Direction Aubagne. The morning will be dedicated to the discovery of the Museum of the Foreign Legion and the Legionnaire. The Foreign Legion is both a myth and a reality. Created in 1831, it is a unique example of success. This museum is first and foremost a place of memory that tells the Legionnaire’s History. The one where today’s Legion honours yesterday’s Legion and remembers its elders.
In the afternoon, we head to Puyloubier for a visit to the Foreign Legion Museum annex, this time presenting a wonderful collection of uniforms. The fraction presented to the public consists, among others, of 94 sets presented on models from the initial dress of 1831 until the end of the presence on Algerian soil in 1968.
The communal cemetery of Puyloubier also houses a military square of the Foreign Legion where many former legionnaires are buried.
