In the morning, visit of the Museum Arles Antique. It is a modern building build on the peninsula where the ancient Roman circus was located. Witnesses of the city’s rich past, all the archaeological objects found for several centuries in the Arlesian territory are presented including the restored barge « Arles-Rhône 3» dated from the years 50-60 AD, classified «Trésor National» and found in the Rhone. You will also find the only known bust of Julius Caesar, bust made in his lifetime.
In the afternoon, free time to discover the Van Gogh Foundation, consisting of more than 1000m² of exhibition spaces spread over two floors. The Foundation tribute to the work of Van Gogh, whose flourishing creativity reached its peak during his stay in the city between 1888 and 1889.
